Classical liberalism is an ideology rooted in individualism. Why, then, does this site seek to “collectivize” women libertarians?
Well, first of all, it isn’t inherently un-individualistic to realize that groups of individuals may have common interests. Those with common interests—particularly when those interests are in the minority—have much to gain in coming together and speaking. Each of us have needs, desires, hopes, and fears, but as women we have some that overlap. Because we are in the minority in most libertarian circles, we have an interest in focusing that common interest so that it may be heard.
Women here do not speak with one voice. We are individuals. We often disagree (as libertarians are wont to do). We are not victims. But if we are able to come together and speak on the things that affect us, perhaps we can bring those issues to the forefront.
